The Raven 04:07
The Raven I only taste the feathers. I only taste the feathers in this pie you made for me. I showed you where to find her, underneath the Heather. Shallow grave dug by me, for her still warm body... The raven, the raven... I only taste the feathers. I only taste the feathers, I don't taste of her meat. You kept it all for you. All for yourself. When you dug her body, from the grave dug by me, her wings folded tightly, to her lifeless body... Oooo Oooo Ooo Ooooo she's haunting you so you're hunting me. Oooo Oooo Ooo Ooooo she's haunting you so you're hunting me. Oooo Oooo Ooo Ooooo she's haunting you so you're hunting me. Oooo Oooo Ooo Ooooo but you don't see, no you don't see... What the raven gave to me. So I only taste the feathers. I only taste the feathers, I don't taste of her meat. You knew it was all for you, all for yourself. When you dug her body, from the grave dug by me, her spirit now flying free, because it flew into me... Oooo Oooo Ooo Ooooo I'm watching you. I'm watching you. Oooo Oooo Ooo Ooooo I'm watching you. I'm watching you. Oooo Oooo Ooo Ooooo I'm watching you hunting me. Oooo Oooo Ooo Ooooo Yes I can see, yes I can see... The raven. Raven.

Paper airplanes can't fly in the rain. Even if they could, don't know you'd respond, or how it'd make it back again. Surely the words would wash away, black ink would bleed to grey. Grey. Ooooo ooo. Ooooo ooo ooo ooo. Surely the words would wash away, black ink would bleed to grey. Grey. Grey. Grey. We were kids and we would run outside, point the nose to the sky. Throw with all of our might, see how high they fly. Squint our eyes to the sun, so we can track their flight. Flight. Flight. Flight. Surely the words would wash away, black in would bleed.... To grey. Grey. Grey. Ooooo ooo. Ooooo ooo ooo. Paper airplanes disintegrate in the rain.

So it comes to this, always comes to this. Dripping from my lips, words to stop your heart shaped... Heart shaped kiss... From heart shaped lips... Your heart shaped lips. It happens all the time. The fist shaped heart is mine. It happens all the time. The fist shaped heart is mine, the fist shaped heart is mine... It happens all the time. The fist shaped heart is mine. I could tell a story, about my days of glory, when everything was love and everything was light. We danced on feet a fleeting, but still it bears repeating that even love that strong can not last the night. A house built of cards topples when winds blow heard and leaves you on the ground where loneliness is found... Found... Oh my love was true. How 'bout you. How 'bout you... It happens all the time. The fist shaped heart is mine. So, dripping from my lips, words to stop your heart shaped... Heart shaped kiss... From heart shaped lips... Your heart shaped lips...

Saw him standing there, wide eyed and restless. Sunbeams in his hair, caught his curls, left me breathless. Then I saw him smile, had to think for awhile. Reminded me of a boy... Seventeen. When life was a joy. Try as I might. I couldn't quite place his face. Years gone by leave lines that are hard to erase. Soon we talked through the night, re-living precious memories. Synchronized in flights, of the mind, and our fancies. Try as I might. I couldn't quite place this feeling. That years gone by, leave wounds that a not through healing. Da da da da da! Da da da da da.... Da da da da da! Da da... Da da... Da da da da. da. da. Try as I might. I couldn't quite place this feeling. That years gone by, leave wounds that are not though bleeding. Even from seventeen. We hold on from seventeen. To love that might have been... And we never let go.

Felt like fall today, shadows growing long, faces growing long. Time for it to end again, everything must cycle around and around again my friends. Felt like fall today, isn't it the best, time to make the best, of the sun in the west. See it put it's sparkling head, to rest... I know, where the flesh is touched so sweet. I know, you're the sweetest flesh I'll eat. I know that the sun can burn my skin. And I know it can heal me from within... Rain... Rain... Rain is falling... Down. On me. Felt like fall today, winds are blowing strong, leaves move right along. Change enters thoughts of mine, wonder why anyone would try slow the hands of time. Felt like fall today, clouds are rollin' in, dark invades again. Bathe ourselves in fire light, before the thaw we'll stay warm and light the sky at night. I know, where the flesh is touched so sweet. And I know, you're the sweetest flesh I'll eat. And I know, that the sun can burn our skin. But I know, it can heal us from within... Rain... Rain... Falling down... On me... Yeah...yeah. On me. Fallin' down on me..... Yeah. Fallin' down on me Fallin' down on me Fallin' down on me Fallin' down, fallin' down, fallin' down, fallin' on me.

Pink frosting sky, I lick clouds from steeled blue eyes. Mary's lost my mind's eye. Looking glass? What? It asks. Strange what dreams find, sheep dressed like wolves to hide. Hide... Their... Common thoughts, spun into common thread, then stitched into common heads. All of this time, still all our dreams die a common death. A common, common death. Who... Who... Who owns you? Who... Who... Who owns you? You can cut your hair when they take your name. But nothing changes it's the same old game. Sheep dressed like wolves, to hide. Hide... Their... Common thoughts, spun into common thread, then stitched into common heads. All of this this time, still all our dreams die a common death. A common... Common... Common... Common... Common... Common...death. Who... Who... Who owns you. Who... Who... Who owns you. Who... Who... Who owns you. Who... Who... Who owns you. Who owns you... Yeah. You.

about

This music is dedicated to the shadow side, the late bloomers who grow slowly in dim light, and the corvids who taught me how to tell time.

Thank you to every one of our incredibly supportive family members, friends, and fans. Especially those significant others who give their partners space to create and perform music. We would like to specially thank... Don Farwell for once again recording and mixing our songs with skill, integrity, and love at Earwig Studio. Frank Fox for hearing the call and coming to the rescue to be our most excellent studio drummer. Eric Weber for playing what I heard on cello. Monica Salazar for her gifted artwork. Andy Seery for his graphics expertise. Levi Seitz at Black Belt Mastering. Jim Kruize at Studio A. Our wonderful new drummer David Crossett. And all of the other music folks in Seattle who have believed in us, and befriended us.
